WHERE WNC BEGINS
The official blog of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce
Our first segment of “Party of Three” is dedicated to Murphy’s Chophouse and the nationally renowned chef/owner, Chef James Reaux. As recent winner of our Forks and Corks – Local…
Chick-fil-A may be located in Blairsville, Georgia but they’re great neighbors that reach out in their community and the surrounding counties: Cherokee, Clay, Towns, and Fannin. They truly are “For the Five!”
The Murphy Co. has an impressive assortment of wine, craft beer, and cigars right in downtown Murphy. This new business has expanded quickly with a new tasting room where you can enjoy their casual atmosphere and a glass of wine. Check out their weekly tastings
There’s no need to go to New York to get a taste of the city. Sal’s Brooklyn Pizza offers made to order deck oven baked Brooklyn style NY pizza right here in Murphy. He doesn’t just stop at pizza though, he has a full menu including calzones with all fresh ingredients and just the right amount of cheese!
Jan and Kurt Olson are quite active in the community, so you will often see FernCrest Winery at festivals in Andrews, Murphy, and throughout the region, including our very own Forks and Corks – Local Savor.
You can keep it simple with BBQ and all the sides, or go all out with whole pig pickin! Join us at Forks and Corks – Local Savor for true Southern Hospitality and Carolina BBQ.
Join us at the 5th Annual Forks & Corks – Local Savor for a sampling of authentic Granieri’s Italian Restaurant in the mountains of Cherokee County. Tickets are on sale now at Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce’s Welcome Center. Visit us Monday – Friday, 9:00-5:00, and Saturday, 10:00-3:00. 805 US Hwy 64 West in Murphy, NC.
We also know those people that have a “Pinterest Fails” board that need a little supervision with a hot glue gun or pair of scissors. I’m not going to lie, I struggle sewing a straight line, but this is not the case for Trudy McFerrin. She offers classes to those who may have potential, but for all of us who lack the time or God-given talent to create, she has a boutique full of adorable handcrafted goods in downtown Murphy!
Visit Trudy’s Creations at 46 Valley River Avenue to see her impressive selection of handcrafted items and class offerings.
Fastop Market #309 is located in Murphy on what is locally known as “the four lane”. While the highway number may change, this road goes from the Ocoee White Water Center in Tennessee to the Nantahala Outdoor Center, running right through Cherokee County. We’re the perfect place for a road trip to take in the mountains where North Carolina begins, so visit our Cherokee County Welcome Center for free local maps and fuel up at Fastop Market!
Stop by to fill up, grab a bite, and ask about their loyalty program at 650 US Hwy 64 West in Murphy.
