Andrews Spring Fling makes spring official in Cherokee County, North Carolina. This highly anticipated event celebrates spring on our beautiful mountain region with a street festival in downtown Andrews, NC. Folks come far and wide to attend and it is literally just around the corner.
Spring Fling was originally started as Earth Day and as the event grew and evolved it was renamed. This is the 6th year of the festival after a necessary cancellation of last year's event due to safety restrictions. The Director of the Andrews Chamber, Jan Olsen and her team have been planning and working hard to make this year’s event the biggest and best yet. We asked Jan what to expect this year.
LIVE MUSIC LINEUP:
Steven Phillips & Midnight Express playing 12 pm to 2:00 pm
Southern Rush with Betty Vaughn playing 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm
Other activities this year include:
- Nature walks by MountainTrue's Western Region Program Director, Tony Ward at 2:00 & 4:00 are good with us. Sign-ups at our table. The walks will be held along the Valley River and Town Branch at Cherokee County Heritage Park within easy walking distance of the Street Fair or people can drive over and park. We'll have a map showing people where to go.
- MountainTrue will also be hosting a Native Tree ID scavenger hunt with information and prizes at our booth.
- MountainTrue will have hellbender posters and fact sheets at our booth.
- The inaugural Duck Race is on for 10:00 on 4/25 at the Valley River Park. REACH of Cherokee County has sold many ducky race tickets and is still selling them. MountainTrue is helping float and capture the ducks in the river, but will receive none of the proceeds because we didn't sell ducks this year. Next year we plan to make it bigger and better with REACH and MountainTrue competing for who can sell the most ducks.
