Cherokee County Chamber’s Virtual After Hours from Downtown Murphy with WKRK
As is the case with all our After Hours events, the public is welcome! Our first After Hours since February’s standing room only event at Parson’s Pub, will be no different. The public is welcome. Well - maybe, a little different.
Instead of members from the Chamber and the community mixing and mingling in an enclosed area, we’re inviting you to enjoy us from the comforts of your living room, she-shed or man cave - or at least from 25 feet away from where we’ll be broadcasting. Thanks to Tim Radford, we’ll be doing a Facebook Live Event with WKRK at Pocket Park in Downtown Murphy right outside Rumors Clothing Thursday, October 1st from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
Why are we doing this? Staying connected, compliant and safe led us to this solution. Besides, many people have been asking when (and how) are we going to restart the After Hours events. Our main goal is to spotlight our beautiful downtown!
So what’s on tap for the Thursday’s Virtual After Hours Event?
Interviews
Laura Lachance, Downtown Development Director, and Mayor Rick Ramsey will talk about the Downtown Associate Community Program and what an official NC Mainstreet designation means for Murphy, NC. Also, Executive Director of the Murphy TDA, Cabrina Scionti may stop in to update us on the exciting things happening at the Tourist Center and Cherokee County as a whole.
Shout outs
During the event, Sherry will be shouting out Chamber members who have businesses in our downtown area. From 5:30 to 7:30 we’ll be broadcasting live from Downtown Murphy in the Pocket Park, shouting out downtown businesses, interviewing some guests, and giving away gifts from some of our members!
Give-Aways
A popular part of our AfterHours has always been the Door Prizes and we do not intend to disappoint! Many of our members have contributed some great gifts
So far contributors include Valley River Vineyards, Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce & Visit NC Farms, Luv N Mtn Soap, The Daily Grind & Wine, Cherokee County Arts Council, the Curiosity Book Store, and Derreberry Farm.
