Lunch at Red Brick Deli
We typically have a Party of 3, but on this day, we traded in Sherry for two kids. My girls are big fans of the owners and staff at Red Brick Deli. Bram and Wendy always greet us with a friendly neighborhood welcome and they happen to have some of the most amazing dessert in Cherokee County. When you fall in love with Red Brick, no worries, they’re conveniently located between the Mountain Lakes Board of Realtors and McNabb Properties. They can find you a home near the deliciousness!
Back to what’s important, the food. My girls ordered a ham and cheese sandwich from the kids menu. They recommend that you ask to have it pressed so the cheese melts just enough and it’s almost like a grilled ham and cheese. While one of my daughters had chips, everyone else went with the ever-popular potato salad and a pickle. (Take Ronda’s advice and ask for the pickle. You’re welcome.)
If you have a gluten sensitivity, the gluten-free wrap at Red Brick Deli is the best I’ve tried. Way better than a lot of the dry GF cardboard you find at other places. I enjoyed the Cuban on the gluten-free wrap… well, half of it. I needed to save room for dessert. Meanwhile, Ronda went for the Bulldog. A word to the wise, if a local restaurant has a sandwich that is named after the local mascot, they mean business. Piled high with hot corned beef, pastrami, sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and Russian dressing, you better bring your appetite.
Now onto my personal favorite, dessert. Always save room for dessert at Red Brick Deli. Always. The kids menu comes with a brownie, but there is also a brownie sundae, piled high with whipped cream and perfect for sharing. They’re well-known for Key lime pie, but let me tell you, that chocolate cake my daughter ordered may be my new fav. So much chocolate! My middle daughter is a die-hard cheesecake fan, so naturally that was her dessert of choice.
Basically, whatever you order, it’s going to be amazing. You may leave with a to-go container, but you won’t leave hungry. So plan a lunch date and enjoy some Red Brick Deli. They’re open Tuesday – Saturday, 11:00 – 3:00 and Wendy and Bram will happily welcome you for a delicious lunch and some of the best service you can find in Downtown Murphy.
