Meet our March Member of the Month

Pam

PAM DICKEY- NCWorks

Say HELLO to March Cherokee County Chamber member Pam Dickey!

Pam was born in Indiana and grew up in Colorado. Her father and their family were relocated to Murphy, NC while working for Clifton Precision (now MOOG). She is a graduate of Murphy High School and Western Carolina University. She has worked for North Carolina employment services and commerce for over 22 years! When she is not working you might find her curled up at home taking a nap or playing with her granddaughter, Chloe. Top on her bucket list is taking an extended trip to Hawaii to visit with family.

If you are an employer with an opening or someone looking for a job stop by NCWorks (across from the Cherokee County Chamber) and say Aloha! to Pam.

Cherokee County, situated in Western North Carolina encompasses the communities of Murphy, Andrews and Brasstown, where forested mountains (rather than skyscrapers) seem to touch the sky, lakes sparkle like jewels in the sun and the air is crisp and clean.

While here, you may choose to experience any number of outdoor activities just suited for the adventurer at heart, or you may choose to sit quietly by one of our many lakes or streams and just escape from the world.

  • Fairs and Festivals
  • Fishing, Boating & Water Sports
  • Golf
  • Hiking
  • Horseback Riding
  • Whitewater Adventures
  • Zip Line/Canopy Tours

Aside from the endless scenic and recreational opportunities, Cherokee County also offers more urban adventures...

  • Antique Shops
  • Churches
  • Craft Shows
  • Dining
  • Historic Points of Interest
  • Shopping
  • Theaters
  • Wineries

Here, surrounded by nature's beauty, the charm of small town America still exists; a place where you and your family can enjoy your “peace” of the mountains.  So whether you are looking to tame the wild rapids, stretch lazily by a rushing stream or search for treasure in one of our many shops, Cherokee County has it all.  Make your plans today.  A warm welcome awaits you!
